Bombers Blank Terriers

The Flin Flon Bombers returned to the ice this Friday and only needed one goal to beat the Yorkton Terriers for the second time this season.

Jeremi Tremblay stripped the puck away from the Yorkton defender and made the nice wrap around to fool Terrier netminder Kael Depape,  and opened the scoring late in the second period.

That is all the offense the Bombers would need as Cal Schell did the rest, making 42 saves for his third shut out of the year and second against the Terriers.

Xavier Lapointe scored his 5th of the season on the PP, early in the third for a little insurance as the Bombers came away with the 2-0 win.

Schell made plenty of highlight reel saves including several on the Terriers sniper Kishaun Gervais. Schell will improve to 9 and 3 on the year and continues to have one of the best save % in the league at .932

Gervais is one of the most exciting players I have seen in a long time,  and is by far one of the best skaters in the league.

Flin Flon was able to keep him in check and picked up their 12th win of the season.

The Bombers are tied with the Humboldt Broncos for top spot overall with 24 points and the Bronco's do have one game in hand.

Next up will be a big battle with the Melfort Mustangs this Wednesday at the Palace.

Flin Flon leads the Mustangs by 3 points and both teams have played 17 games.

We will have the broadcast beginning with the Great North GM Coach's Show at 8:15 and drop of the puck at 8:30 MB time.
