Schell Shuts Out The Terriers

It took only one goal to decide yesterday's battle between the Flin Flon Bombers and Yorkton Terriers as they hooked up at the SJHL Showcase in Warman.

Jacob Vockler was able to beat Terrier netminder Kael Depape with a shot that appeared to hit the cross bar, but the officials awarded the Bombers the goal and it did stand up as the game winner.

Bomber goalie Cal Schell stood tall and was the difference  stopping all 45 shots fired in his direction and was  certainly the best player on the ice.

The Bombers were only able to muster 28 shots at the Yorkton net.

Schell picked up his second career shut out and his record stands at 3-2 and improved his save % to .915

With the win, Flin Flon has leaped to the top of the Sherwood Division with a record of 4-2 and are tied with the Nipawin Hawks.

Yorkton will slip to 1-5 and remain  second in the Viterra Division.

The Bombers will play Kindersley this afternoon to conclude the Showcase with the two teams hooking up two more times this weekend at the Whitney Forum.
