Bombers Take Both In Battle Of The North

The Flin Flon Bombers had no trouble filling the back of the next this past weekend as they swept the home and home with the OCN Blizzard.

The Bombers took Friday's game at the Roy H johnston Arena by a score of 10 to 2 and followed that up with a 4 to 1 win at the Whitney Forum last night.

OCN came out hard on Friday but could not solve Jared Thompson who stood tall for the first 6 or 7 minutes to keep his team in the game.

The momentum turned around in Flin Flon's favour after Luke Shaeffer snuck in a shot from the blue line to put the Bombers on the board with their first shot of the night.

Flin Flon never looked back and quickly made it 3 to 0 on goals from Cole Duperreault and Luke Monroe.

OCN then started a constant stream to the penalty box and the Bombers made them pay by going 4 for 8 in helping put up the ten goals.

Luke Monroe would end up potting two more to collect his first junior hat-trick with other goals coming from: Matt Raymond, Mason Kaspick, Drayden Kurbatoff, Cabrel Labossiere and Lucas Fry.

The OCN goals came from Bryden Sinclair and Michael Hlady.

Saturday, the Blizzard played much better but still had trouble putting the puck in the back of the net.

The Blizzard scored first , but that was the only puck to beat veteran Cal Schell who saw his first action of the pre season and made 37 saves.

Flin Flon got their goals from Gagne, Duperreault, Swanson and Pfoh.

The Bombers will run their pre-season record to 2-1 and will face the Kindersley Klippers in Prince Albert in a neautral sight game tonight at 7:30.

We will have complete results tomorrow.

Next action at the Whitney Forum will be Tuesday night when the OCN Blizzard will make another visit.
