No Playoffs For The WHL

The Western Hockey League announced that there will be no playoff games this spring following the regular season.

The announcement was made official earlier today that they will conclude the 24 game regular season with no playoffs due to Covid 19.

The league says that travel restrictions across provincial and international borders with the global pandemic would make it very difficult to conduct a post season.

The OHL announced today that they were cancelling the remainder of their regular season due to the pandemic in Ontario. The QMJHL is the only major junior league that will have playoff games with a modified playoff format.

Last week, the CJHL announced that they would also be cancelling this year's Memorial Cup.
