Bomber Players Up For Year End Awards

The SJHL has announced their finalists for their end of year awards and a number of Flin Flon Bombers are nominated for their fine play.

Tristan Lemyre is nominated for the Direct West Rookie Of The Year. What can't you say about Tristan who is having an amazing season. Lemyre has put up big numbers including 29 goals and 31 assists in 41 games and is running away with the Rookie scoring lead despite missing a month of the season. Lemyre also accepted a scholarship to the University of Denver last month.

Alec Malo is up for the RBC Player Of The Year and is second in league scoring putting up 85 points in 51 games . He has 64 assists which is tops in the entire league and has found his scoring touch with a 3 and 4 goal performance in the second half of the season. The former QMJHL star has been a fan favorite for the Bomber faithful all season.

Cole Rafuse,  another major junior star who has a Memorial Cup ring from his time with Acadie Bathurst,  is nominated for the SGEU Most Valuable Player. Rafuse can do it all and has been one of the most consistent players in the league with 84 points in 51 games including 36 goals. Rafuse is also among the league leaders with 14 powerplay goals and is one of the best players I have seen along the wall.

The awards will be announced in two weeks.
