It wasn't the way the Flin Flon Bombers wanted to wrap up their road trip on Saturday, dropping a 6 to 2 decision against the Estevan Bruins.
Saying that, they still played very well going 3 and 1 with a few injuries and battling the flu bug.
This was also the first time the Maroon and White went a combined 7-1 in the two southern road trips which is extremely difficult to do.
Caleb Franklin and Tristan Lemyre scored the Bomber goals with Jacob Delorme back between the pipes stopping 27 out of 32 shots in taking the loss.
Despite being tired and a little beat up, the Bombers still out shot the Bruins 40 to 33.
With the three road wins the past week, Flin Flon officially clinched a playoff spot and sit locked in second overall at 33-11-5.
They will pretty much have to run the table, if they want to catch the first place Battleford Stars who are 13 points ahead of them with the big head to head match up coming up this weekend.
Flin Flon does have two games in hand and will travel to Melfort for a game this Wednesday before hosting the Stars in a pair of games, Friday and Saturday.
Once again, The Bombers dominated the weekly player awards. Cole Rafuse is the Player Of The Week after collecting 4 goals in 4 games.
Dane Hirst is the Defenseman Of The Week, thanks to 4 assists in 4 games and once again Tristan Lemyre is the Rookie Of The Week, for the third straight time.
Lemyre finished the week with 5 points, 3 goals and 2 assists and has been red hot with 17 points in his last 18 games and is starting to run away with the SJHL rookie scoring.
Lemyre leads Kyle Ford of Laronge by 10 points despite playing 11 fewer games.
102.9 CFAR and flinflononline.com will be back on the air this week with the broadcast from Melfort on Wednesday and the big game against the Stars on Saturday.
We kick things off both nights with the Great North GM Coach's Show at 7:10.
