The Flin Flon Bombers scored 5 goals in the opening period and never looked back in an impressive 9-2 win over the Estevan Bruins last night.

 

The reigning SJHL Defenseman Of The Week, Mason Martin led the way with a pair of goals his 12th and 13th of the year.

 

 Reid Robertson scored a pair to  hit 8 on the season and Zach Bannister also scored his first as a Bomber and 10th of the year.

 

Other goals came from Houle(25), Klymchuk(10), Rafuse (32) and Easton Haygarth who potted his 15th.

 

Estevan got their goals from Tyson Manz and  Brady Nicholas.

 

Flin Flon was in control the entire game,  scoring two minutes in and continued to pour it on chasing starting netminder Keenan Rancier on 4 goals on 14 shots.

 

Randy Cooke came in relief and stopped 25 of 30.

 

Jacob Delorme was in net for the Bombers giving up 2 goals on 30 shots and picked up his 19th victory of the season as he continues to bolster his game down the stretch.

 

The Bomber power play was clicking  once again going 2 for 5 while holding the Bruin power play at bay at 0 for 6.

 

Flin Flon has taken both games  against the Bruins this season out scoring them 16 to 6.

 

With the win, the Bombers will get a little more breathing room over Yorkton for second overall, with a 5 point spread and 4 games in hand.

 

They also continue to put distance between themselves and the other clubs in the Sherwood Division. They lead second place Melfort by 7 points and third place Laronge and Nipawin by 8 points.

 

It was a great way to kick off the home stand with Weyburn and Laronge coming to town this weekend. We will have the broadcast against Laronge on Saturday.
