Bombers Get D-Man from Kindersley

The Flin Flon Bombers have  swung a significant trade with the Kindersley Klippers earlier today as they continue to bolster their back end with more experience.

Flin Flon has landed veteran defenseman Dane Hirst from the Kindersley Klippers for goaltender Matt Sankner, forward Drayson Collyer , prospect Hunter Laroque and future considerations.

Hirst who is from Lac Du Bonnet MB has 7 points in 12 games this season.

Hirst also played with Troy Quinn on the Swan Valley Stampeders laast year. The Bombers just got Quinn from Merrit of the BCHL last week.

Sankner is the key part of the deal for Kindersley. The 19 year old product from Pennington New Jersey has put up some very good numbers in a Bomber jersey, going 2-2-1 with a save % of .936 and a gaa of 2.39.

This should also be a good move for Collyer who saw limited duty in a Bomber sweater, dressing for only  9 games with no points this season. Collyer is only 17 and has his whole career ahead of him.

Flin Flon is hoping that Hirst will be in the line up tomorrow against Notre Dame.
