Bombers Fall To 0-3 In Pre- Season

The Flin Flon Bombers blew a three goal lead last night and ended up giving up six unanswered in a 6-3 loss to the MJHL'S Swan Valley Stampeders last night at the Whitney Forum.

Things looked good for the Bombers early, thanks to goals from Matt Raymond, Peter White and Chase Haygarth which put the Maroon and White up 3-0 after one.

Flin Flon came out and played sluggish in the second and it cost them giving up six goals to the Stampeders on 21 shots.

Once again the Bombers dressed mostly rookies with a handful of veterans making their way into the lineup.

Final shots were 43-27 in favour of Swan River with Tyler Peterson and J.P. Mella splitting the goaltending duties.

Head Coach and GM Mike Reagan had this to say after last night's game. " It seems like the same old, same old so far in three exhibition games. We come out with a great  first period and get up three nothing. That is twice now in exhibition that we have given up a three goal lead and we tried to coast in. I give Swan Valley credit, they rebounded and played a great second period. You never want to give up six goals in a period, and I said it last night that exhibition is for learning and we are learning a lot about some guys . Maybe we have a little more work than I thought."

The Bombers fall to 0-3 in the pre season and will head to Swan River for the re-match tonight at 7:30.

After tonight's game in Swan River, Flin Flon will return home to play Nipawin on Friday and OCN Saturday to wrap up the pre season and get ready for the regular season which is now only one week away.
