Bombers Win 7th Straight

To say the Flin Flon Bombers aren't hot would be a huge under statement after reeling off their 7th straight win over the Melville Millionaires yesterday 5-1 to complete a perfect 3 for 3 weekend.

The Mill's scored the first goal when Damian Bentz beat Jacob Delorme with a shot just underneath the cross bar for the only goal of the opening period.

The lead was short lived as the Bomber offense found their groove and they scored 5 unanswered for their 6th win over Melville this season.

Brandson Hein led the way with his 35th and 36th of the season which is the second most in the league behind Justin Ball's 42.

Cade Kowalski continues to be a nice addition as he picked up two more in a Bomber uniform to give him 17 on the year. Kowalski has 8 points in 5 games with Flin Flon.

Crystopher Collin scored the other Bomber goal to give him 14 on the season. Collin has caught fire and is looking like his old self again with 8 points in his last 4 games and was awarded the SJHL Player Of The Week.

It was good to see Jacob Delorme back between the pipes after a 3 game break. Delorme was very good again yesterday stopping  21 out of 22 for his 10th win of the year.

Delorme's gaa has dropped to 2.73 to go along with a very solid sv% of .915.

With this recent hot streak the Bombers are starting to move up the standings and are now second in the Sherwood Division at : 27-13-0-2, 1 point up on Melfort. Both teams have played 42 games.

Those 3 wins head to head with the Mustangs are paying big dividends right now.

They sit second overall,  tied with Battleford with 56 points. Talk about perfect timing with the Stars making their way to the Whitney Forum for a pair of games this weekend. I think Battleford is very under rated and should give the Maroon and White a very good test this weekend.

Mike Reagan made it clear on yesterday's CFAR Post Game report that he is very happy with the turn around of his team and they have the first place Nipawin Hawks in their sights.

Nipawin leads Flin Flon by 6 points with the Bombers having two games in hand. They play two more times this year.

Just when you thought the Bomber line-up couldn't get any deeper, Reagan also announced on the road trip that Ethan Daniels will make his return to Flin Flon and was expected to be back in town yesterday.

Daniels is a complete player that can score and kill penaltys and doesn't mind the rough stuff. I am expecting to see him in the line-up this weekend.

Don't forget to catch the Saturday game against Battleford on 102.9 CFAR and flinflononline.com starting with the Great North GM Coach's Show at 7:10.
