Bombers VS Mustangs

The Flin Flon Bombers make their way to the Northern Lights Palace tonight to battle the Melfort Mustangs for the first time this season.

Flin Flon enters the game second place in the Sherwood Division at 11-5-0-2, with Melfort right behind them at 10-5-1. The Mustangs do have two games in hand.

Melfort won the season series 5 to 3 last year and wins have been very tough to come by at the Palace for the Bombers in recent memory.

Flin Flon have managed just 3 wins in their last 14 visits. The Mustangs are good at home again this year sitting at 6-1.

The Bombers continue to score at will leading the league with 83 goals in just 18 games. This should be a good challenge tonight as Melfort is good defensively, giving up 57 goals in 16 games.

This is good enough for fourth overall.

Tonight's game will feature 3 of the top 4 league goal scorers. Brandson Hein and Nate Hooper continue to sit first and second. Hein leads the league with 34 points, while Hooper has 29.

Melfort's Justin Ball has 27 points including 16 goals and is currently fourth overall in scoring.

Specialty teams are always big and the Mustangs have the league's best power play at 26.3 %. The Bombers continue to get better and are ranked fourth at 22.9%.

No matter what go's down you will have the best seat in the house with the broadcast on 102.9 CFAR and flinflononline.com. It all starts with the Great North GM Coach's Show at 8:10 and drop of the puck at 8:30 MB time.

After tonight's game Flin Flon will enjoy a 7 day break before returning to the ice November the 9th and 10th against Laronge.
