Northstars Battle Hard

It was a gutsy effort from the Norman Northstars who played 3 games in 3 days, which ended in a tough 4-3 loss to the Winnipeg Thrashers yesterday afternoon.

The road trip started with back to back games against Pembina Valley, Friday and Saturday. The Hawks won Friday 5-2 and Saturday 4-3. Saturday's loss really stings as Norman had a 3-1 lead in the second period.

Flin Flon's Mitchell Reid was back in the lineup and he picked up a goal and an assist in the three games. Keian Weseen played net in two of the three games and he played very well stopping 71 out of 80 shots.

It was nice to see that even without a win on the season the Northstars played hard and have not given up.

They will get a chance to grab their first win of the season when they welcome the 5-10 Southwest Cougars to town this weekend.
