Kodiaks Ready For Football Provincials

The Creighton Kodiaks 6 man football team are one of 8 teams remaining in the province with a chance at a Provincial title.

Even after a tough loss in the Ralph Pilz Northern Saskatchewan final against Cumberland House last weekend, the Kodiaks have kept their season alive with a second place finish in their conference.

Creighton is off to Wakaw this Saturday in the Provincial Quarter Finals to battle the Warriors who are 5-0.

I asked Head Coach Ryan Karakochuk how they were preparing for this Saturday's game. "Well first of all, we are trying to get as much intel on Wakaw as possible. We have talked to several coach's in their conference, who have given us some tape and faxes on their formations. First and formost is  trying to get ready on what they run and what they do,  and prepare our guys the best we can on that. Obviously we haven't seen them yet so there will be an adjustment period."

Kickoff in Wakaw will be at 1, and if the Kodiaks win would host either Wynard or Dalmny in one of the two Provincial Semi- Finals.

Rosthern will travel To Cumberland House in one of the other Quarter Finals with kickoff also this Saturday at 1.
