Cumberland House Comes Out On Top

It wasn't the best of conditions in Prince Albert on Saturday but that didn't stop Cumberland House and Creighton from putting on a good show in the Northern Saskatchewan football final.

The top two teams from the regular season met up at the Max Clunie Field and had to battle strong winds and a steady down pour through out the afternoon.

When it was all said and done Cumberland House defeated the Kodiaks 32-26 and remain undefeated on the season.

The Kodiaks did score first and did manage to get their top offensive players involved and looked like they may pull off the upset. This was the first time that Cumberland trailed this season, but shook off a shaky start and tightened up defensively.

Shawn Francois did everythimg he could to bring the trophy back to Creighton by scoring four touch downs on the afternoon with the other td coming from Noah Dickens.

Cumberland House improves to 6-0 on the year and claim their first Ralph Pilz Trophy and now move on to the  provincial ranks and will host a game this weekend.

The Kodiaks season is not over either as they will move on provincially and will go to Wakaw this Saturday.
