Bombers VS Laronge

After a 4 day break the Flin Flon Bombers , are back on the road to face a struggling Laronge Ice Wolf team tonight at the Mel Hegland Uniplex.

The Ice Wolves enter tonight dead last in the SJHL standings with a 1-10-0-1 record. Offense is their big problem just scoring 23 goals in their first 12 games. They work hard and compete hard but don't seem to have that one guy that can ignite the offense.

Jason Bednarski and Connor Smith are their two top goal scorers with four goals each.

Flin Flon is trying to shake off a bad southern road trip which saw them go 0-4 and get out scored 26- 12. The amount of goals the Bombers gave up was disappointing,  especially since they were one of the better defensive teams in the league before the road trip.

The Bombers are still a 500 team with a record of 5-5-0-3 and know one needs to hit the panic button yet as they have a lot of new faces in their lineup that are still getting used to the league.

To say the Bombers have the Ice Wolve's number would be a huge under staement as Flin Flon has beaten Laronge 18 out of the last 20 games  including both meetings on opening weekend this year.

Evan Vossen, the Laronge Head Coach continues to tweek his lineup making a number of trades this week including adding 99 born forward Nolan Dawson,  who is a 6'4 forward who spent time in the AJHL with the Calgary Mustangs and Drayton Valley Thunder.

This season he was playing with English River Miners of the SIJHL. Laronge gave up a player development fee.

The Bombers will have to try and snap their 5 game winless streak without goalie Brenden Newton and veteran d-man Kurtis Rutledge who are both hurt and not expected to play tonight.
