Hounds Squeak One Out Over Bombers

The Flin Flon Bombers dropped their second straight game at the Showcase in Saskatoon after a 2-1 shootout loss last night against Notre Dame.

Ethan Daniels was the only Bomber to find the back of the net scoring his first ever SJHL goal in the second period to put the Bombers up 1-0.

It looked like one goal might be enough to win the game but Curtis Weibe would tie it with just over 4 minutes remaining in regulation to tie things at 1.

Over time settled nothing and Jack Flaman who suited up in his first game for the Hounds after being re-assigned from the WHL scored the only shoot out goal.

Both goalies played great with the Bombers Brenden Newton and the Hounds Jacob Standen both stopping 36 shots.

Flin Flon's record will drop to 2-1-0-2 and find themselves in  second spot in the Sherwood Division with 6 points, just 2 behind the front running Mustangs.

Notre Dame improves to 3-0-1-1 and are second in the Olymic Buildings Division, 1 point behind the defending champs  Battleford.

Next up for the Bombers will be a pair of games against the Melville Millionaires this weekend at the Whitney Forum. 102.9 CFAR and flinflononline.com will have the broadcast on Saturday starting with the Murray GM Coach's Show at 7:15 and drop of the puck at 7:30.

Congratulations to the Bombers Crystopher Collin who was chosen the SJHL Rookie Of The Week for putting up 6 goals in his first 4 games in the SJHL.
