Team White- 5 Maroon- 4

The Flin Flon Bombers wrapped up Main Camp with the traditional Maroon and White game last night at the Whitney Forum.

It was a very entertaining game with lots of flow and a lot of guys who could turn on the jets. Mike Reagan has preached speed the last number of seasons and this year's group can really fly.

Team White started strong and squeeked out a 5-4 OT win over team Maroon, when returning forward Nate Hooper scored his second of the game, 3:58 into the extra frame.

Hooper,  last year's Bomber Rookie of the year really stood out and finished up with 4 points including 2 goals and 2 assists and was able to bring back the chemistry that he and Dawson Mckenzie had in the Manitoba Midget AAA League together with Winnipeg.

Mckenzie was one of the top Bomber prospects heading into camp and he and Hooper played on the same line with the Winnipeg Wild and will be fun to watch play together in the junior ranks.

Kurtis Rutledge made his way to Flin Flon yesterday and did play last night and Reagan said he thought he looked good. " We are happy with him, he has a presence back there and you can tell he's got experience and with as many d-men as we lost last year we need a guy with experience. He will take some pressure off Benny Lanferman and Isaac Jackson , to have another d-man back there and it will be good for our young guys as well to learn from a guy like that."

Rutledge came over in a trade with the Calgary Mustangs of the AJHL for a player development fee and has experience in the WHL with Tri- Cities and Kootney.

The Bombers will now play 5 pre-season games including a home and home with Nipawin this weekend. Flin Flon heads to Nipawin tonight for an all rookie affair with the re-match tomorrow at the Whitney Forum at 7:30.
