Bombers Ready To Swing Back Into Action

After a 12 day break the Flin Flon Bombers will wrap up 2016 with a home and home with the Laronge Ice Wolves.

It all starts tomorrow at the Mel Hegland Uniplex with a 7 PM start.

Flin Flon is 13-4 since the beginning of November and have taken 5 out of 6 points against Laronge this season including a 4-1 win in Laronge Dec 13th.

The Bombers also strung together 6 straight wins in December before losing their final two games before Christmas to Battleford and Kindersley.

The Maroon and White are in a good spot to make a run in the second half sitting at 21-10-2-2 with 46 points which has them in first place in the Sherwood Division and third overall.

Laronge will have some work to do as they are dead last at 6-23-1-4 and could be in danger of missing the playoffs if they don't start to win soon.

It has been a trying season for the Wolves who made a coaching change earlier this season  dumping Shawn Martin in late October and hiring former player Evan Vossen.

It has been a revolving door with many of the Wolves skilled players requesting trades and they have had a hard time finding a consistent lineup.

Laronge is competitive most nights but just seem to come up short in a lot of their games. They are 2-6-1-1 in their last 10 but are always tough to beat at the Mel.

We will have to see how the Christmas break affected the likes of  Reitmeier, Lavallee , Zimmer and Watson who were all red hot heading into the break , as the Bombers are piling up the goals with 129 in 35 games which as them third overall behind Battleford and Estevan.

Don't forget Friday night's game is a 7 PM start time with the return affair back at the Whitney Forum on Saturday New Years Eve at 7:30.

This will be the first time anyone can remember a game New Years Eve at the Whitney Forum and fans are encouraged to come out and win some prizes, have fun and hopefully cheer the Bombers onto victory in their final game of 2016.

102.9 CFAR and flinflononline.com will broadcast both games including the Murray GM Coach's Show 15 minutes before the opening faceoff.
