How About Those B'S

Well the Flin Flon Bombers have done it again picking up their 6th straight win in December with a come from behind 4-2 win in the Battlefords last night.

Flin Flon found themselves down 2-0 early in the second before reeling off 4 straight goals from Hooper(2), Zimmer(11) and 2 more goals from Watson who now has 13.

Watson was a house on fire to start the season scoring 9 goals in his first 7 games before falling into a terrible slump that saw him go 17 games without scoring a single goal. Watson has caught fire again with 3 goals and 5 points in his last 5 games.

This was a game that had a lot of hype heading into it for good reason. Battlefords is first overall and the Bombers are third and these two teams have been on incredible hot streaks with both teams 9-1 in their last 10 games.

Not to mention this was the first meeting at the Civic Centre since Rylee Zimmer scored in double OT  to knock the Stars out of last year's playoffs.

It was a slow start for the Bombers in the first period getting outshot 17-9 but Zac Robidoux was on his game and he made 16 saves  to keep his team in it. Flin Flon played much better in the second and third and chased Battleford starter Joel Grzybowski early in the third.

Final shots were 43-37 Battleford and Robidoux won for the 11th time this season. Robidoux has been SJHL Goalie Of The Week  twice already this season,  and is making a case for his third weekly award with two huge performances on this road trip.

With last night's win in Battleford the Bombers have now beaten every team in the league and the head to head series between these two teams is now 1-1-0-1 with the next meeting at the Civic Centre Friday night.

Flin Flon's overall record is now 21-8-2-2 and have built a 13 point lead over Nipawin for first in the Sherwood Division and have moved to within 1 point of Estevan for second overall. The Bombers are also over .500 on the road at 8-7.

A big thanks to CJNB in the Battlefords for allowing us to pick up their feed for last night's game and we look forward to joining them again on Friday night.

It will be interesting to see if Head Coach Mike Reagan, Brandon Lesko and Corey Thomas rejoin the team in Battleford Friday as Canada West was eliminated from the World JR.A Challenge last night losing to the

Czech Republic 4-3 in Ot in Bonnyville.

Make sure you listen in again Friday night as we will join the CJNB Pre- Game Show at 7:15 with play by play at 7:30.
