Bombers Tame Wolves

The Flin Flon Bombers remain undefeated in December and kicked off their road trip with a nice 4-1 win in Laronge last night at the Mel Hegland Uniplex.

Bomber goals came from Shumlanski (9), Lavallee (16), Etter(3) and McCausland(4) into the empty net. McCausland scored one goal in 26 games with Yorkton and already has 3 in Flin Flon in only 6 games.

You can see why Mike Reagan was big on him as he has fit into the Bomber lineup nicely.

Zac Robidoux continues to be steller stopping 33 out of 34 shots to pick up his 10th win of the season.

With the win the Bombers improve to 20-8-2-2 and now move 11 points up on Nipawin for top spot in the Sherwood Division. The Hawks still have 4 games in hand.

Flin Flon will improve to 7-7 on the road and are 8-2-1 against teams in their own division.

Gary Childerhose continues to do a nice job manning the Head Coaching duties with Mike Reagan at the World JR.A Challenge in Bonnyville as the Bombers won for the 5th straight time with Childerhose behind the bench.

Childerhose mentioned after last night's game that they are very happy with how the trip started.

"That first one is huge on a big road trip like this, and  Laronge is always a tough place to win and they always give us their best and beat us at home earlier in the season. We were really hungry to return the favour last night and we put a lot of shots on net and I thought we could of put more traffic and got to the paint more but we will be ready to go tonight."

The Bombers will turn their focus to the Battleford Stars as the trip continues at the Civic Centre tonight and Flin Flon's much awaited return after  they eliminated the Stars in the playoffs last spring.

These two teams are starting to pull away from the rest of the pack and look to be on a collision course come playoff time once again. Battleford took both games in Flin Flon October the 7th and 8th which seems like a lifetime ago.

Battleford owns the league's best record at 27-6-0-0-3 and have only lost 3 games at home all season, but the Bombers always play well at the Civic Centre.

You can catch all the action on 102.9 CFAR and flinflononline.com as we will take the feed from CJNB in North Battleford tonight starting at 7:15.
