Bombers 5 Wings 3

The Flin Flon Bombers remain red hot winning their third straight game in December taking down the Weyburn Red Wings 5-3 last night at the Whitney Forum.

Rylee Zimmer and Greyson Reitmeier led the way with a pair of goals each. Reitmeier has taken over the team lead in goals with 16,  and Zimmer now has 9. The other Bomber goal came from Jordan McCausland his first in a Bomber uniform.

It is just his second of the season as he had one goal with Yorkton in 26 games.

The Weyburn goals came from Metheral, Rotherburger and Parker.

Flin Flon continues to roll with 9 wins in their last 10 games and once again lead Nipawin by 9 points for first in the Sherwood Division. The Hawks have 3 games in hand.

The Bombers overall record will go to 18-8-2-2 and are third overall with 40 points and split the season series with Weyburn at two wins a piece.

It was a banner day in Bomber land as 20 year old defenseman Eric Sinclair landed a scholarship to Alaska-Anchorage starting next season.

Another big announcement came out of Alberta from Team Canada  West's  evaluation camp that both Cory Thomas and Brandon Lesko had made Canada West for the 2016 World Junior A Challenge.

Mike Reagan who is serving as an assistant coach for the second straight year was thrilled with the announcement especially with no players from the SJHL making the team last season.

Canada West will play a pre-tournament game against Russia on Friday when they play in ST.Albert and open up the tournament on Sunday against the Czech Republic.

I will have an interview with Reagan, Lesko and Thomas during our second intermission in tomorrow's broadcast against Estevan.

Don't forget tomorrow night's game against Estevan will be the last home game before Christmas and hopefully we can get a nice big crowd as the Bombers remain one of the hottest teams in the league.

You might remember it was this time last year when the Bombers got really hot and started to string a lot of wins together. They won 7 out of 8 to hit the Christmas break and are on pace to make some noise heading into 2017 .

Don't forget to tell your friends and family to listen in out of town to 102.9 CFAR and flinflononline.com starting with the Murray GM Coach's Show at 7:15, play by play at 7:30.
