It is a week that Eric Sinclair won't forget. After being selected the SJHL top defenseman award for his play in the last 7 days, Eric received some other good news today.

The Flin Flon Bombers are very excited to announce that 1996 born Eric Sinclair (Kenora, ON), has committed to the University of Alaska-Anchorage Seawolves NCAA Division I men’s ice hockey program for the 2016-17 season.

“We’re really happy for Eric,” commented Head Coach and General Manager Mike Reagan on the commitment.  “Eric has only been with us for a short period of time, but there has been a lot of interest from schools and at the end of the day, I believe it was the commitment of Alaska to come to Flin Flon to watch Eric that helped in his decision.”

Sinclair has appeared in 15 games with the Bombers since being dealt to the club earlier this season, and has 16 points (3g, 13a).  Overall he has 21 points (5g, 16a) in 17 games this season.

“Anchorage showed a lot of interest making the trip to come to see me,” added Sinclair.  “They made an offer I couldn’t refuse.”

After 10 points (3g, 7a) in his rookie season, Sinclair had 45 points (13g, 32a) in 58 games last season, helping him pick up the IBAS Top Defenseman of the year honors.

“I’m excited to play for Alaska.  It’s kinda like home with the scenery, the outdoors feel, and it’s an experience I can’t wait to start.”
