Make It 6 In A Row

The Flin Flon Bombers are on some kind of a roll after reeling off their 6th straight win Friday over the Humboldt Broncos 4-1.

Jason Lavallee  and Greyson Reitmeier continued their hot streak scoring their team leading 13th of the season, with  both goals  coming in the first period. Other Bomber goals came from St.Onge his 12th and Tyler Nyman picked up his first ever SJHL goal.

The lone Bronco goal came from Chris Van Os- Shaw who collected his league leading 20th of the season.

It was the second straight game where the visiting goalie kept his team in it. Cater Seminuk was peppered with 54 shots and turned away many good Bomber chances to give his team a chance to stay in it.

Flin Flon held the Broncos to only 22 shots in the game and beat Humboldt for the second time in the span of a week to take a lead in the season series 2-1. They will meet one more time in Flin Flon Friday Feb the 24th.

The Bombers are starting to find the back of the net and have scored 29 goals in their 6 game winning streak only giving up 10. You are going to have a lot of success when you are a plus 19.

I have had a chance to be around the guys for a good chunk of the month and have seen every game they have played and you really get the sense that this group is focussed and seem to be prepared to play every game.

They remind me of Great White Sharks in a feeding frenzy and never seem to stop attacking their opposition and are out shooting most of their opponents 2-1. This is a real fun group to be around and cover.

Flin Flon improves to 15-7-2-2 and now lead Nipawin by 5 points for first in the Sherwood. Nipawin continues to play well and just took 3 out of a possible 4 points from Melfort over the weekend. The Hawks have two games in hand.

This was a big win because it  lifted the Bombers over the Broncos for third overall by 1 point, with Flin Flon having played 2 less games. With the new league playoff format overall standings are now a big deal.

Fresh off setting the new Bomber overall shutout record Zac Robidoux picked up his 8th win of the season and has only given up 1 goal in his last 3 games. He has the 4th best overall gaa in the league at 2.17.

The Bombers may not want November to end as they are 7-1 and close the month out in Melfort this Wednesday November the 30th. The Mustangs are the only team to beat Flin Flon in November when they held them off 5-4 back on November the 2nd at the Palace.

No matter what go's down you will have the best seat in the house as we will have the broadcast on 102.9 CFAR and flinflononline.com starting with the Murray GM Coach's Show at 7:15.
