Bombers Crush Klippers

The Flin Flon  Bombers cruised to their 5th straight win in shutting out the Kindersley Klippers 6-0 last night at the Whitney Forum.

Flin Flon is 8-1-1 in their last 10 games and have out scored their opponents 19-5 on their current 5 game win streak.

Greyson Reitmeier led the way with a hat trick scoring his 10th, 11th and 12th of the season. Jason Lavallee remains red hot pocketing his 11th and 12th of the season,  and now has points in 7 out of his last 8 games.

The other Bomber goal came from Joseph Leonidas his third of the year.

It was all Bombers from the opening bell in this one and if it hadn't been for the terrific goal tending from  Nick Trenciansky this one could have been a lot worse. Trenciansky stopped 59 out of 65 shots fired in his direction and did not get a lot of support from a tired Klipper group, who were playing their third game in three nights.

It was a historic night for Bomber goalie Zac Robidoux who stopped 25 shots for his second straight shut-out and third of the year. Robidoux who set a new Bomber record for shutouts in a single season last year with 5, now has the all time record of 8 since re-entry into the SJHL.

Robidoux was tied with Devin Buffalo with the all time mark of 7 heading into last night's game and was pretty humble when he heard about the feat after the game.

" I actually didn't know about the record but it feels like a great accomplishment and I have had a great team in front of me both years I have been here,  and I feel I can be successful with this great group of players in front of me."

The Bombers will now get ready for the Humboldt Broncos , who Flin Flon beat 5-2 in Humboldt on Saturday night. Humboldt comes to town banged up with 5 regulars out of their lineup, but are still very dangerous with the likes of Chris Van Os- Shaw who leads the league in goals with 19.

Humboldt is also very well coached with second year bench boss Darcy Haugan who has assembled one of the best teams in the league so far this season. Game time tonight is 7:30

The Broncos are 15-10-0-1 on the season which has them second in the Finning Division,  13 points behind front running Battleford.

Flin Flon sits at 14-7-2-2, first in the Sherwood, 6 points up on Nipawin with the Hawks having 3 games in hand. The Bombers are third overall, 1 point up on Humboldt.

No broadcast of this one tonight as we will hit the road and bring you the game from Melfort on Wednesday night.
