It is a weekend the Flin Flon Bombers will not forget as they took all  4 points against the top team in the SJHL, the Battleford Stars.

Fresh off a 5-4 OT win on Friday,  the Bombers picked up a solid 5-2 win Saturday.

Recently acquired Jason Lavalle scored his second in as many nights and third of the season to open things up at the 14:36 mark of the opening period.

Joel Kocur banged home his 14th of the season to put the Bombers up 3-0 early in the second before Reed Delainey beat the buzzer with only 1 second left in the second to get the Stars on the board 3-1 after 2.

Alex Smith electrified the crowd when he scored on a penalty shot early in the third to preserve the 3 goal lead and make it 4-1 on his 14th, tieing Joel Kocur for the team lead.

Battleford pulled the goalie and made it 4-2 when Connor Sych, blasted a point shot past Zac Robidoux with just over 5 minutes remaining.

The Stars kept battling but Brandon Switzer was able to seal the deal , when he flipped the puck into the empty net with less than a minute remaining in the game to make the final 5-2. This was Switzer's second of the night and 11th of the year.
