Kodiaks 53 Sandy Bay 8

The Creighton Kodiaks took over right where they left off from last October, rolling over Sandy Bay 53-8 Thursday night at the Creighton field to kick off their second season in the Northern Saskatchewan Football League.

Creighton got plenty of offense from Blair Pietsh and Tyler Williamson who led the way with 2 touchdowns each. Other TDS coming from: Josh Nowlin and Dean Rainville. Rainville also added 6 converts.

Head Coach Ryan Karakochuk talked about his team's first win of the season.  " I think the boys were really nervous to start the game, you could see it, no one really knew what to expect.  I think offensively you could see jitters all around, and I think the boys got frustrated that we couldn't complete a lot of passes. The wind was a factor with the ball fluttering all over the place. I told them to keep it together, our defense played very well and I was happy to get all our players into the game. We only had a week and a half to prepare, so we have to go back to the drawing board and it is only going to get tougher."

Creighton improves to 8-0 dating back to last year and will hit the road, when they travel to Lac Laronge next Thursday.
