Kodiaks Will Play For Championship

The Creighton Kodiaks continued their domination in their first year competing in the 6 man Northern Saskatchewan Football League.

Creighton hosted the Eastern Final and rolled to a 59-24 victory over Cumberland House Monday afternoon.

Evan Linnick led the way with 3 touchdowns as well as 7 converts. Chris Reynolds scored the nicest touchdown of the day when he ran back a punt return.

Josh Nowlin hauled in a couple of passes for touchdowns and big Brennan Van Meer also scored on a 15 yard run up the middle.

The Kodiaks will travel to Prince Albert to play in the Championship game this Saturday. Creighton will face Pinehouse who defeated Green Lake in the Western Final 55-17.

Pinehouse features the very dangerous Johnny Tinker who finished second in league scoring right behind Evan Linnick. Linnick had a 122 points and Tinker had 113.

I think it is safe to say this is the matchup everybody wanted and expected to see, with both teams undefeated on the season.

The Championship Final will be decided at Max Clunie Field this Saturday at 1:30.

Here is Head Coach Ryan Karakochuk talking about his team's victory over Cumberland House, and his thoughts on his team going for the Championship in PA this Saturday.
