Bombers Blowout Bruins

After a 4-2 setback in Humboldt, the Flin Flon Bombers responded in a big way trouncing the Bruins 9-0 right in Estevan.

 

Alex Smith had his best game in a Bomber uniform picking up 6 points including a hat trick, giving him 4 goals on the season.

 

Leading scorer Chris Rauckman scored 2 goals to give him a league leading 11 on the season.

 

Other Bomber goals came from: Perrilat(2), Cameron(1), Lishchynski(1) and Yaremchuk (1).

 

Simon Hofley stopped all 33 shots fired in his direction and has played every minute of every game so far this year between the pipes.

 

 

The Bomber powerplay was firing on all cylinders last night going 5 for 10 and improved to a league best 32%.

 

Flin Flon improves to 5-2-2-1 on the season and have moved to within 1 point behind Melfort,  for first place in the Sherwood Division. Nipawin did Flin Flon a favour trimming the Mustangs 2-1 last night.

 

The Hawks are only 1 point behind Flin Flon for second and do have 2 games in hand.

 

Estevan will fall to  3-6-0-1 after last night's loss and sit in second spot with Yorkton in the Viterra Division.

 

The Bombers have outscored Estevan 15-3 in the two head to head matchups so far this season.

 

Flin Flon will get today off before resuming the 4 game road trip tomorrow in Weyburn. Opening faceoff will be 8:30 MB time from Crescent Point Place.
