Tough Start To The Road Trip

Mike Reagan said his team needed to get off to a better start, and stop giving teams early leads in hockey games. The Bombers did score the first goal last night, but still found themselves on the wrong end of a 4-2 score in Humboldt.

Eric Pedersen who just got back in the lineup opened up the scoring in the second period at the 5:11 mark.

The Broncos would get their offense on track and scored just 19 seconds later to tie it on Swytsun's second of the year. Greve would score 27 seconds after that to put the Broncos up for good.

Duzan would score the eventual game winner at 8:43 of the third period. Dustin Perrilat would score his first of the season on the powerplay to make it interesting and get it to 3-2 with just over 8 minutes remaining in regulation.

Dylan Fluter who just got back in the lineup after a lengthy injury to start the year, sealed the game with an empty netter late in the third period.

The Bombers had a tough time staying out of the penalty box and had a couple of their offensive weapons tossed out of last night's game including Chris Rauckman and Eric Pedersen.

Flin Flon outshot Humboldt 36-28 and went 1 for 7 on the PP. The Broncos were 0 for 7.

After 9 games the Bombers are: 4-2-2-1, 11 points and trail Melfort by 3 for the Division lead.

The Bombers are also winless in 3 road games this year.

Humboldt improves to: 3-5-1-0 and still occupy the basement in a tough Kramer Division.

The 4 game in 5 night road trip continues tonight in Estevan and will be the second meeting of the season between these two teams. The Bombers won the matchup at the Whitney Forum Sept 26th 6-3.
