Former Flin Flon Bombers bench boss Larry Wintoneak has found a new home.

 

The Creston Valley Thunder of the Kootenay Junior League in BC have announced that they have hired Larry as the new Head Coach and General Manager.

 

Wintoneak brings lots of experience to the table as he has been behind the bench for over 1,000 games in Junior Hockey and has also coached in Semi Pro.

 

Most recently Larry was the Head Coach of the Kam River Fighting Walleye of the SIJHL where he guided them to a league title and Centennial Cup birth just two years ago. The Walleye and Wintoneak decided to part ways after this past season.

 

Wintoneak coached the Flin Flon Bombers between 1996 and 2001 and got the Bombers to the National Final in 2001,  the year that Flin Flon hosted the National Tournament.

 

Other stops in the SJHL include stints in Laronge and Kindersley, as well as the Dryden Ice Dogs, Thunder Bay Flyers out east and the Calgary Buffaloes in the U-18 AAA Alberta league.
