It wasn't the way the Flin Flon Bombers wanted to start their road trip last night as they went into Nipawin and dropped a 3 to 1 decision to the number 5 team in the country.
It was the Bombers third straight loss after starting the season 6-0.
The Hawk Captain Finley Radloff opened the scoring with his second of the season midway through the first period.
Carter Anderson and Jack Janzen added goals in the second period as the Hawks took control at 3 to 0. Reid Arberry did reply for the Bombers on the powerplay with his third of the year late in the second.
That is the only puck the Bombers could slip past Hawk goalie Gage Roberts who was sharp in stopping 28 out of 29. Devin Peck started for Flin Flon and he gave up 3 goals on 30 shots.
Flin Flon has now been out scored 13 to 6 in their last three and have only scored 5 goals 5 on 5 in those games.
The Bombers will try to get back in the win column as the road trip continues at the Westland Arena in Yorkton tonight.
Yorkton has been a little slow out of the gate at 3-4-0-1 but did beat the Humboldt Broncos back to back last weekend. The season series was 2-2 between the two clubs last year.
The Bombers have played Yorkton well winning 15 of the last 20 meetings head to head but are really struggling to score.
Saying that, the Bombers still have a good record at 6-3 and a road win tonight would be huge. Puck drop in Yorkton is 8pm Manitoba time tonight.
