The Flin Flon Bombers and Melville Millionaires combined on a one-for-one trade, with the Bombers sending 20-year-old forward Jaxon Martens to the Millionaires for 20-year-old forward Zach Cain. Conditional Draft Picks and Future Considerations are also tied to the transaction.

Martens, a product of Warman, Saskatchewan., heads south after tallying 29 points (11G-18A) in 33 games for Flin Flon.

Cain, a product of Pilot Butte, Saskatchewan., was second in Millionaires scoring with 34 points (14G-20A) in 32 games as the team captain.

“Trades like this are never easy to make because Jaxon has been a part of our program for quite some time now, and he played a big part in helping us reach the Canalta Cup final and Centennial Cup national championships last season. We’re very excited to be adding Zach Cain and what he will bring to the team. Zach’s leadership, grit and compete are all things we place a high value on and we feel he will bring other intangibles besides the ability to produce offensively.” – Flin Flon Bombers Head Coach & General Manager, Mike Reagan

Martens was signed by the Bombers in the summer of 2020 and has produced 75 points (30G-45A) in 91 career SJHL regular season games while also putting up 11 points (2G-9A) in 18 playoff games last spring.

Cain comes to the Bombers with 63 points (27G-36A) in 69 career SJHL regular season games. Zach is related to former Bomber, Aaron Cain, who was a part of the 1992-1993 championship team.

The Bombers would like to wish Jaxon Martens all the best in Melville and welcome Zach Cain and his family to the Bombers organization.
