A Great Way To Start The Year

For just the second time this season the Flin Flon Bombers were able to win a game when trailing after two periods.

Flin Flon kicked off 2023 with a come from behind 4 to 3 victory  last night in Laronge and were down 3 to 2 after 2.

Jeremi Tremblay continues his incredible season and scored the winner when he streaked down the right side, and was able to fool Dawson Smith with a low shot stick side.

This was Tremblay's 17th of the year as he continues to be one of the most exciting players in the entire league and was flying every where last night at the Mel Hegland Uniplex.

The other Bomber goals came from Cole Duperreault who netted his team leading 24th , Jacob Vockler and Jaeden Mercier.

Two of the Bomber goals came with the extra attacker as the league's best powerplay went 2 for 5.

Laronge got their goals from Thomas Wright, Kayle Taylor and Jacob Cossette.

This was the Bombers fourth straight win and third against the Wolves to give them a share of second over all and first in the Sherwood Division. Flin Flon also has 4 games in hand, so it was a pretty important two points.

Harmon Laser Hume was once again able to go head to head with one of the league's top tenders in Dawson Smith and ended up with 27 saves including some big ones in the dieing seconds.

Smith ended up with 46 saves on the night as he was pepperd with 21 shots in the third period alone.

Flin Flon starts the year with a big win and are now 21-7-2-1  and will host Humboldt in a pair of games this weekend.

The Broncos are just 4 points behind the Bombers with a game in hand and are always tough to beat and will be a stiff test for the Bombers first home action of the new year.

You can catch Saturday's game on 102.9 CFAR and flinflononline.com with the Great North GM Coach's Show at 7:10.
