Duperreault Leads The Way

The Flin Flon Bombers rode into Humboldt yesterday after a couple of disappointing games against the Battleford Stars.

The Bombers fired well over 100 shots at Josh Kotai but only came away with 1 point in an OT loss on Saturday.

Flin Flon played a perfect road game yesterday en route to a solid 4 to 1 win at the Elgar Petersen Arena.

Cole Duperreault,  who is having a career season led the way with his first ever SJHL hat-trick.

Duperreault led the offense three different ways with a goal coming on the PP, short handed and he also put one into the empty net.

He now leads the team with 16 and sits second overall, three behind Kian Bell of the Battlefords.

Cory King scored the other Bomber goal, his 4th of the year.

Xavier Roy scored the lone goal for Humboldt.

Harmon Laser Hume played another good game stopping 25 out of 26 shots for his 12th win of the year. Hayden Dunford suffered the loss giving up 3 goals on 28 shots.

This was a huge 2 points for Flin Flon who improve to 15-5-2-1 and are now tied with Laronge for the division lead and second overall with 33 points.

Humboldt falls to 15-7-1 and are third overall.

The Bombers will get 4 days off before they play the Melfort Mustangs this up coming weekend with a home and home. Melfort is playing a lot better hockey and look to have turned their season around winning 7 of their last 10.

The Bombers go to Melfort Friday and return the favour on Saturday. We will broadcast both games here on 102.9 CFAR and flinflononline.com.

Puck drop both nights at 7:30.
