After a bit of a rough start, the Flin Flon Bombers put things together for a solid 4 to 1 win last night in Nipawin.

 

Flin Flon looked back on their heels for the first 5 minutes but battled through bus legs and got their game going midway through the first.

 

After a scoreless first period, the Bombers opened the scoring on the powerplay when Jeremi Tremblay took a nice pass from Jaeden Mercier to score his 11th of the season.

 

Tremblay has been on a tear with 10 points in his last 7 games.

 

New comer Ethan Mercer would score in his Bomber debut, when he banged in a rebound just over a minute later which stood up as the game winner.

 

Alexi Sylvestre and Cole Duperreault with his team leading 13th of the year,  added a couple of insurance goals in the third period.

 

Reid Mackay had the lone goal for Nipawin when he scored on the powerplay midway through the second.

 

Specialty teams were a factor once again with the Bombers going 2 for 6 and continue to have the league's best PP at 28.6 %. Nipawin finished 1 for 4.

 

This was a huge win for Harmon Laser Hume who stopped 32 out of 33 shots and was able to beat his former team at the Cage for the first time.

 

Laser Hume avenged his 5 to 2 setback in Nipawin on September the 17th.

 

This is a huge 2 points that will put the Bombers back into first place in the Sherwood Division with a record of 14-4-1-1. They jump ahead of Laronge by 1 point with 30 and still have two games in hand.

 

This will also give the Maroon and White express some momentum as they head to the Battlefords to battle the number one team in the country.

 

The Stars are still unbeaten in regulation and have points in 21 straight games.

 

Due to some problems at Battleford's rink they will play in Wilkie on Friday and move to another rink in Battleford on Saturday  with a start time of 2pm.
