Yorkton Rebounds On Friday

It was a much different looking Yorkton Terrier team on Friday night.

The Bombers spanked the Terriers 8 to 3 on Thursday and put up over 50 shots to pick up their 13th win of the season.

On Friday, Yorkton played a much better first period and their PK and goaltender led them to a very important  victory.

Yorkton starting goalie, Caleb Allen was nothing short of fantastik making 49 saves and was definately his team's best player on Friday night.

Allen didn't need a lot of offense as he was really dialled in.

Brett Butz opened up the scoring for Yorkton in the first period and they got a couple of goals late in the third courtesy of Greg Nelson and Clay Sleeva.

Nelson's was the game winner.

Jaxon Martens was the only Bomber to find the back of the net, when he got a rebound early in the second.

Specialty teams were once again the big story, with the Terriers killing off all 5 Bomber man advantages. They gave up 4 powerplay goals on Thursday.

Yorkton finished up 1 for 4 with the man advantage.

It was a costly loss for Flin Flon who all of a sudden find themselves second in the Sherwood Division.

The red hot Laronge Ice Wolves who beat Yorkton 6 to 1 on Saturday have taken over first in the Sherwood Division with 29 points. The Bombers sit second with 28 but do have 3 games in hand.

This is a very big week for the Maroon and White who will play 4 games on the road.

It starts tomorrow in Nipawin, then the big 3 game road trip in Battleford for a pair on Friday and Saturday , wrapping up in  Humboldt Sunday.

You will be able to listen to all 4 games here on 102.9 CFAR and flinflononline.com. Tomorrow's game in Nipawin starts at 7, with the Great North GM Coach's Show at 6:45.
