Kodiaks Meet Islanders For Championship

Tomorrow is the first step in what could end up being a great fall for the Creighton Kodiaks 6 man football team.

The Kodiaks will have home field advantage for the playoffs,  and will host the Cumberland House Islanders for the Ralph Pilz trophy tomorrow afternoon to decide the Northern Saskatchewan Football Championship.

Creighton was 3-1 in the regular season and remember their one loss was a forfeit game to start the year against SMVS.

The Kodiaks steam rolled their competition in the next three games out scoring their opponents 202 to 34 and are certainly the huge favorite entering tomorrow's game

Saying that ,  Head Coach Ryan Karkokochuk isn't taking anything for granted. "  You can be driving and fumble the ball on the snap,  a couple of tip passes or an interception and you can behind the 8 ball and you are pressing. Saying that with 6 man football  your best athletes usually come to the fore front. I feel confident that way but we will have to start fast and take care of buisiness."

Cumberland did finish the regular season 2-2.

Tomorrow's kick off will be 2 pm, Manitoba time at the Creighton Field and the weather is supposed to hold up.

The Kodiaks will host Shellbrook the following Saturday despite the outcome of tomorrow's game as they will begin the Provincial bracket.
