It was parent's weekend and the Flin Flon Bombers put on a show taking both games against the Melville Millionaires this weekend, 9 to 3 and 4 to 3 in OT.

 

On Friday , they were actually down 3 to 1 after 1 but erupted for 8 straight goals, cruising to the 9 to 3 victory.

 

The top line of Duperreault, Martens and Mercier combined for 12 points with Duperreault scoring a pair to take over the team lead with 7 goals.

 

Cal Schell back stopped the team to his 6th win with  28 saves.

 

You knew Melville was going to be much better on Saturday and they were,  competing hard and forcing the game to OT.

 

It was a night that Brett Wieschorster and Nathan Flodell will never forget as they collected their first goals of the season .

 

Flodell,  scored a really nice goal as he grabbed a loose puck in the Mill's zone and fired it through Jared Thompson's legs to the crowd's huge elation.

 

Wiershorster, who is a terrific skater scored his on a nice juicy rebound.

 

Nathan Gagne led the way with a pair, his 5th and 6th including the OT winner.

 

After the Mills made a rush down the ice, the Bombers stopped them at the blue line and went down the ice 3 on 1 with Gagne taking the drop pass from Smith and flipped it into the top corner for the B'S 5th straight win and 9th overall.

 

Max Hildebrand got the start and made 29 saves for his third win.

 

Melville got their goals from: Jonathan Krahn, Zach Cain and Zach McIntire.

 

Former Bomber, Jared Thompson got the start against his former team and played extremely well stopping 50 out of 54 Bomber shots.

 

Flin Flon will improve to 9 and 3 on the season and will get a big test this week as they head out for a 4 in 5 game road trip.

 

They will see Melville again on Tuesday, Estevan on Wednesday, Notre Dame on Friday and Weyburn Saturday.
