Bombers 1-1 To Start Season

Bombers  Even as they start the SJHL Seson

 

 

       The Flin Flon Bombers traveled to Melfort to begin the SJHL on Friday night, and didn’t get off to the start they wanted.  Melfort got the best of the Bombers 5-2.The Mustangs  scored twice early in the first period and Bombers had to play catch up the rest of the way. Cole Duperreault and Mason Kaspick got the markers for Flin Flon and Cal Schell made 33 saves in the loss.

 

 

      Saturday night in the home opener the Bombers were able to get avenge the previous night’s loss and pick up 5-3 victory  over the ‘Stangs in a spirited game heard on 102.9 CFAR. Fueled bya  3/8 night on the power play, the Bombers got offensive production with goals from  Nathan Gagne,Jaxon Martens,Xavier Lapointe,Cold Duperreault, and Mason Kaspick  who added the empty netter in an eventful third period.  Melfort got a pair of power play goals of their own late to make it a contest that went right down to the dying seconds. Cal Schell made 37 saves including several that turned the momentum the Maroon and Whites way. Bombers welcome the Nipawin Hawks, Tuesday night at the Whiteny Forum at 7:30.
