Well it was a reason to celebrate as the Norman Northstars finally got that first elusive win of the season on Saturday.

 

After dropping an 8-5 game to Central Plains on Friday, Norman built up a quick 3-0 lead on Saturday and never looked back with the 6-5 win.

 

It was a great weekend for Flin Flon's Mitchell Reid who had a 4 point weekend including two goals. Jordan Pfoh also played well adding 3 points, 1 goal and 2 assists. AP Sean Yaworski added an assist.

 

Norman will try to build on their first win of the year when they hit the road for three on the weekend, including a game against Southwest Friday and two against Yellowhead Saturday and Sunday.

 

The Norman Bantam  Wolves split a pair of games with the Southwest Cougars on the weekend winning 4-3 on Saturday, but took a tough loss 12-1 on Sunday. Flin Flon's Justin Lies led the way with 3 goals in the two games and Oden Church picked up the win in goal Saturday.

 

The Wolves hit the road this weekend with two games against East End and Portage.
