The Flin Flon Bombers face off against the defending league champs from Yorkton for the first time at the Whitney Forum this season. As if this wasn't already a big game, Brett Boehm will make his first trip back to Northern Manitoba since being traded to the Terriers December the 10th.
The Bombers find themselves in fourth place in the Sherwood Division after Laronge beat Melville last night 4-2. The good thing is Flin Flon has two games in hand on both Melfort and Laronge for second place.
The Bomber record is: 16-19-0-2, good for 34 points and are 3-5-0-2 in their last ten. All the Sherwood Conference teams are under .500 in their last ten, so if the Bombers can get on a roll, they should be able to move up the standings.
Mike Reagan knows how important tonight's game is and doesn't want his team to get away from their game plan by paying extra attention to Boehm tonight.
" No question, the most important thing is to get two points, we want to be physical against him ." " We know his weaknesses and streingths, if you give him time and space he is going to make you pay." " If you are physical against him , he doesn't like to play that type of hockey." " It will benefit our hockey club to play that way and be physical on him." "Our main focus is to win the hockey game."
The Terriers won the only meeting between these two clubs in Yorkton November the 17th 4-1 and are in a bit of a tail spin right now with back to back losses and a record of 4-4-1-1 in their last ten.
Yorkton sits second in the Viterra Division, six points behind first place Melville.
Don't forget 102.9 CFAR is the corporate sponsor tonight, so make sure you get there early for lots of great give aways. We will also be taking donations on behalf of the McKay family who lost everything in a fire before christmas. We will be taking a silver collection and excepting gift cards.
