Bombers Bounce Back

The Flin Flon Bombers are right back in the North final thanks to a solid 4-0 win last night at the Whitney Forum.

Devin Buffalo was in fine form stopping all 35 shots fired in his direction including 15 in the first period to get the shut out , his second in a row at the Forum.

The Bombers shook off a shaky first and stormed out of the gate in the second scoring 1:16 into the period with Brett Penner scoring his 5th of the playoffs. This would stand up as the game winner with Penner scoring again at 14:42 of the second to put the Bombers up 2-0 after 2.

Third period goals came from Clark - his first of the playoffs and Litke added his 4th.

A great crowd last night with 1,148 taking in the action. The Bomber fans have been the extra man this entire post season and there had to be at least 200 Bomber fans in Humboldt this past weekend.

This looked like the Bombers of last series against Nipawin, with lots of great chances coming from everywhere.Lots of intensity and great physical play. There were bodies flying all over the ice, with the Bomber faithful cheering loudly on all every single hit.  The Bombers managed to chase Matt Hrynkiw after the 4th goal early in the third period.

Flin Flon needed their top offensive players to get going and that is exactly what happened with Penner picking up 3 points, with assistance from Weldon, Wark and Storzuk. Even though Brett Boehm and Josh Roach never picked up any points thay created all kinds of chances and were forces all night long.

A great effort from Flin Flon showing they can play with the Broncos and that this series is a long way from being over.

Game 4 is tonight back at the Whitney Forum with all the action on CFAR-590 and flinflononline.com. So don't forget to bring your radios to the game.

See you tonight
