You can walk to remember on Friday

Flin Flon area residents are invited to be part of the 23rd annual Women’s Memorial March on Friday.  The Women’s Resource Center’s Colleen Arnold says the march is in honor of all aboriginal women who have been murdered or have gone missing and this year Flin Flon joins the efforts to help end violence once and for all.  She says as a community we need to stand together and fight for justice and honor for these women.  Arnold adds aboriginals are more likely to be marginalized and are consequently significantly over represented as victims and suspects in crimes. She says aboriginal women are disproportionately the victims of violence including murder.

You’re invited to join the walk beginning at 5:30 Friday evening at Pioneer Square on Main Street wrapping up at the Friendship Center for refreshments.
