It was great to see the mayor back and in good spirits after taking a personal leave from council back in October. The Mayor thanked the members of council for covering during his personal leave.
Greg McBratney appeared as a delegate in regards to starting a Tri Community Health Care Committee to address health care issues in our area. McBratney wants to see all three councils from Flin Flon, Creighton and Denare Beach all work together and talked about some of the issues his wife had to deal with after a lengthy stay in Saskatoon, and the complications of being from Denare Beach. McBratney thanked different members from each council who did reach out to help and his wife has been able to return home.
A second reading was given to amend a traffic bylaw for a designated handicap space in front of the Inferno Schwarma restaurant on Hapnot street. Right now it is very difficult for someone to find a place to walk and safely get across the street.
The City has also come into agreement with the Flin Flon District Environment Council for the maintenance of the Flin Flon Landfill effective January 1st of 2024 to December 31st of 2024.
The Animal Control report came in for February and they received 14 residential calls with three dogs captured, one turned over to the SPCA and one found a new home. There was also one report of a warning for a noise violation.
