Two fund raisers on the weekend were a success

The Habitat 53° Chapter of Habitat for Humanity held a successful Coffee House on Saturday night attended by 159 people as well as entertainers and volunteer workers.  The Coffee House raised just over 2895 dollars to help the Chapter build a Habitat home in Flin Flon.

At the Coffee House it was announced the Chapter received a cheque for 2 thousand dollars from the Flin Flon Horticultural Society.  It was also announced their ongoing penny drive had collected over 850 pounds of coins totaling just over 4105 dollars.

Their next fund raising event is a tea planned for February 22nd in St. Ann’s Hall.

Another event held on Saturday was the Walk for Cerebral Palsy.  One of the organizers Kim Nelson says they had about 21 people come out for the walk.  She says some pledge sheets are still coming in so the total should be close to 2 thousand dollars.
