Saskatchewan Teachers Are Back To The Picket Lines

Teachers in Saskatchewan are headed back to the picket lines on Wednesday. The Creighton School Division will be joining other School Divisions across the province as contract negotiations with the Sask Government have stalled.

Kirsten Fristch who is the President of the Local Teachers Association tells us that frustration is setting in with little movement from the government.

" Unfortunately teachers in Creighton are heading back to the picket line tomorrow , we would much rather be in our classrooms. Given the government has shown no movement and no will to negotiate with the teachers of our province we will continue with our rotating strikes. We are looking to put some pressure on government to bring them back to the table with a new mandate. We are hoping the public will contact their MLA'S, the Premier and Minister Jeremy Cockrill to let them know that they are ready for the teachers and government to get back to the table."

Creighton teachers will be on the picket line this Wednesday on Creighton Ave right in front of the Prospecter Inn between 10 and 2. You can join them on the picket line if you wish and you can also show your support by honking when you drive by. There is also going to be a province wide withdrawl of noon hour supervision on Thursday February the 8th.
