It has been an  exciting year for Flin Flon MLA Tom Lindsay who was appointed speaker of the house after the NDP won the provincial election in October. Lindsay is the first ever speaker of the house from Flin Flon and says the role brings plenty of challenges.

" The interesting part for me is being non partisan now, so I can't really wade into the political sphere anymore. The actual part of sitting in the chair and conducting business in the house has been interesting, fun and a learning experience. There is so much more to being the Speaker Of The House than anyone see's and I am still learning how it go's."

Lindsay also commented that he will continue to serve the people to the best of his abilities in this constituency and looks forward to gathering with the rest of the speakers from across the country in Yellowknife in January.
