Flin Flon Friendship Centre's Winter Shelter Is Open

As the temperatures continue to cool off the Flin Flon Friendship Centre has opened their cold weather shelter to give those in need a safe  place to keep warm.

Project Co-ordinator Amanda Fleury tells us they have received a lot of donations so far. " I have sent out donation letters and have got a huge response from our community business's,  and community members have also been coming in and asking what we need. We are still in need of touques, mitts, socks and jackets. As soon as they come in they are gone so we need a supply of that stuff."

The shelter is only open during the day so far but as temperatures continue to get colder they will also be open at night. If you would like to make a donation you can send an e-transfer to finasst@mymts.net, stop by the Friendship Centre at 57 Church street and you can also call 687-3900 and they will come and pick donations up.
