The Flin Flon Lions Club held their charter night and handed out some awards Thursday night as they marked their 70th anniversary as a club in the community. District Governor Cheryl McKitrick was a special guest and had this message for the local chapter.
" The message this year from me as the District Governor is to become the change. In other words, the Lions have to change and we have to look at getting younger members and change our way of doing things and they will come. Ask in you communities and I want to congratulate the Flin Flon Lions , I have come up here several times through out the years for the Calvacade and to visit. This is a special club in our hearts and they treat us like royalty when we come, and I want to congratulate them on 70 years of service to their community."
The Lions Club handed out these awards to conclude their evening.

Lions Foundation Of Canada Dog Guides Life Memberships- Ken and Kristen Tetreault, Doreen Gabler and Nancy Collacott.
Judge Brian Stephenson Award From Lions Foundation Of Canada- Zone Chairman- Terry McLennen
MDSM Hall Of Fame Award- Roger Poirier, excepted by his wife Rena Poirier.
