Flin Flon Neighborhood Revitilization AGM Highlights

The Flin Flon Neighborhood Revitalization Corporation held their AGM on Wednesday night at Council Chambers.

The meeting was chaired by Mark Colt who prepared a report which included their mandate, year in review, plans for the future and the filling of board positions.  Among the highlights included their Flowers On Main street which have been very well received by the community, a $2,500.00 donation for the Wilds Thing Market and the creation of a Community Mobilization Committee.

Lawrence Gillespie who is the Executive Director says they had a good year.

" I think we have had a pretty good year, we are coming out of the pandemic and we are also coming out of some political uncertainty on what we wou;d be doing over the long term. I think we have made a pretty good transition in terms of we were able to get a lot of things done. We had the flowers on Main street and we have had pretty good success with our small grants program. I think we are in a pretty good position based on what we have done over the last year. We have a big challenge ahead as we want to set up a Community Mobilization Committee that will help bring social workers and helpers from all kinds of agencies to help focus on some challenging situations. We want to get back into community events in a much bigger way than we have and continue to work with the beautification of Main street."

They are in need of some more volunteers and people to fill some board positions, so if you think you might be interested contact the FFNRC at 204-687-6972.
